As a part of the Marble team, you'll work with the latest technologies and help develop the next generation of solutions for food processing, bringing resilience to the food supply chain.

A Day in the Life of a Mechanical Engineer at Marble:

As a Mechanical Engineer on the Marble team, you will have the unique opportunity to be a part of the product development process from design through deployment. One week, you may travel to a customer facility to assess their current processes, participate in engineering studies, and provide input about how Marble’s automated systems will be implemented. On another week, you might travel back to the facility to oversee the installation of Marble’s automated systems, coordinate with contractors, monitor the system, and troubleshoot any issues. You must be an excellent verbal and written communicator and have the ability to understand each customer's unique constraints for integration and deployment, resolve issues, and provide service, support, and onsite and remote training.

In addition to traveling and working with customers, you will collaborate with Marble’s mechanical, software, and robotics teams in a hands-on environment at our product development space in Lincoln, NE. You will have access to a state-of-the-art fabrication facility for prototyping design concepts, and you will work regularly with custom machinery, 3D CAD design software, manufacturing drawings, floor plans, and other technical documentation to help develop our suite of products.

As a member of the Marble technical team, you will be empowered to directly impact our products and customers through the research and development of novel technologies. What You Must Have:

  • BS or MS in mechanical engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience with machinery and assembly/maintenance
  • Experience with mechanism design, including motors, gears, bearings, pneumatics, and mechanical packaging
  • Experience with Autocad, Excel, and Solidworks

Additional Experience We’d Like You to Have:

  • Experience with on-site equipment installations

  • Experience with automation

  • Previous experience working in the food and/or protein industry is a bonus but not required

  • Experience with industrial robot arms

  • Networking/Linux experience is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be comfortable operating in a food processing environment

  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time

  • Possessing a driver’s license, insurance and a reliable vehicle

  • Ability to accommodate some weekend work and last minute travel

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times

  • Ability to maneuver in and around equipment, including small spaces

  • Squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching overhead, reaching forward will occur while on the job
