Marble, a technology company founded to accelerate food system technologies for people and the planet, is seeking a full-time Robotics Engineer, Software who is not afraid of a challenge, and is passionate about building technology solutions that transform an industry.  As a part of the Marble team, you'll help develop the next generation of tools and robotics for meat processing, bringing resilience to the food supply chain.

A Day in the Life of a Robotics Engineer, Software at Marble:

Our Robotics R&D team is an innovative, cross-disciplinary, and collaborative group of passionate engineers with a wide range of skill sets.  We create next-generation mechatronic systems powered by advanced computer vision, modern control theory, and cutting-edge mechanical design.

As a Robotics Engineer, Software on the Marble team, you’ll be responsible for developing perception, planning, and learning algorithms to generate and use rich data to control robotics systems.  You’ll need to be able to hack with existing, off-the-shelf solutions and commercially available robotics platforms and continuously integrate and evaluate your work on real hardware.  Existing papers, patents, and other industry publications will be referenced often, and you’ll need to be comfortable reading and re-implementing that work.   

Your insight and expertise will be crucial to the development of the products we build and will influence decisions on architecture.  You'll collaborate with experts in engineering, robotics, software development, agribusiness, and meat science as you apply the latest advancements in robotics to pressing issues in meat processing. You’ll also frequently work with customers and external stakeholders as part of our customer-focused approach to development.  You can expect to talk to customers about their challenges and partner with them to test our solutions.

As an early member of the R&D team at Marble, you will have the opportunity to influence our direction as we work towards our technology demo in early 2022. 

This job is on-site at either of our Lincoln, NE or Cambridge, MA office locations.

Requirements:

  • B.S., M.S. or PhD degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • Proficient in projective geometry, kinematics, multi-view computer vision, computer graphics or related linear algebra algorithms

  • Experience with modern computer vision, data science, and robotics frameworks like OpenCV, numpy, PyTorch, Tensorflow, Keras, ROS, Gazebo, etc.

  • Proficiency in implementing algorithms in Python, C++, or MATLAB, including best practices for testing, documentation, and version control using Git

  • Familiarity with motion planning algorithms, such as RRT, MPC, or trajectory optimization

  • Familiarity with computer vision algorithms, particularly modern ML-based computer vision

  • Familiarity with robotics hardware

  • Ability to work in a Linux environment, including familiarity with Linux terminal Bash shell commands

Marble’s home bases are in Cambridge, MA, and Lincoln, NE.  We believe in getting together with team members and visiting customer sites to build relationships, whiteboard ideas, and deliver great solutions.  Team members can expect occasional travel for in-person meetings and site visits.
