A Day in the Life of an Automation Engineer at Marble:

As an Automation Engineer, you will lead automation deployments and customer support and work with Marble team members on new projects.  You will travel to customer facilities to help install our intelligent automation and robotics solutions and will also be responsible for monitoring our automation systems, performing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting control systems. Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills are a must. You'll coordinate with contractors, troubleshoot issues, help walk customers through repairs at their facilities, and complete service reports. You will work closely with the engineering and maintenance teams at food processing facilities, as well as your Marble team members.

When you’re not at a customer's facility, you will be working with Marble's mechanical, software, computer vision and robotics engineering teams at our product development space in Lincoln, NE, where you'll help prototype, assemble, and test new solutions. You'll need to be comfortable working independently and with team members.

What You Must Have:

  • BS in engineering, a two year degree in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience with automation and machinery is preferred
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and communication skills
  • Experience with on-site equipment installations and support
  • Ability to read and follow AutoCAD drawings for system layouts, assembly, and troubleshooting

Additional Experience We’d Like You to Have:

  • Experience with electrical standards including NFPA-70, 79, and UL508

  • Experience with conveyors, pneumatics, VFDs, machine wiring, control panel design and assembly, networking, motion control or machine vision

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley hardware

  • Experience generating maintenance plans and work instructions for equipment operation

  • Experience with industrial robot arms

  • Experience with Excel, Autocad, and Solidworks

  • Project management and estimation experience

  • Machine shop experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be comfortable operating in a food processing environment

  • Ability to travel approximately 40% of the time

  • Possessing a driver’s license, insurance and a reliable vehicle

  • Ability to accommodate some weekend work and last minute travel

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times

  • Ability to maneuver in and around equipment, including small spaces

  • Squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching overhead, reaching forward will occur while on the job

  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
