Marble, a technology company founded to accelerate food system technologies for people and the planet, is seeking a Summer 2023 Mechanical Engineer Intern who is not afraid of a challenge and is passionate about building technology solutions that transform an industry.  As a part of the Marble team, you'll help develop the next generation of solutions for meat processing, bringing resilience to the food supply chain.

A Day in the Life of a Summer 2023 Mechanical Engineer Intern at Marble:

Our Engineering team is an innovative, cross-disciplinary, and collaborative group with a wide range of skill sets.  We create next-generation mechatronic systems powered by advanced computer vision, modern control theory, and cutting-edge mechanical design.  

As a Summer 2023 Mechanical Engineer Intern on the Marble team, you’ll be a part of the engineering, designing, and implementation process from start to finish for our automation and robotics solutions. You’ll be responsible for hands-on design, fabrication, and testing.  Depending on your background, you will have the opportunity to work with robotics, machine design and manufacturing, industrial controls, and 3D modeling and simulation. 

Existing papers, patents, and other industry publications will be referenced often, and you’ll need to be comfortable reading and re-implementing that work.  You can expect to talk to customers about their challenges and partner with them to test and implement our solutions.

What You Must Have:

  • Working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in mechanical engineering or a related field

  • Experience with SolidWorks


Additional Experience We’d Like You to Have:

  • Experience with mechanism design, including motors, gears, bearings, and pneumatics

  • Experience with prototyping, including assembly, 3D printing, machining, etc.

  • Machine shop experience
