Automation Technician

At Marble, you'll work with the latest technologies and help develop the next generation of solutions to improve the food supply chain.

A Day in the Life of an Automation Technician at Marble:

As an Automation Technician, you will work onsite at customer facilities and with Marble team members on new projects. One week, you may travel to a customer facility and help install one of our intelligent automation and robotics solutions.  On another week, you might travel back to that facility to monitor how the system is working or perform preventative maintenance.  

Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills are a must. You'll answer customer phone calls, help walk customers through repairs at their facilities, and complete service reports. You will work closely with the engineering and maintenance teams at food processing facilities, as well as your Marble team members.

On days you are not at a customer's facility, you'll work with Marble's mechanical, software, computer vision and robotics engineering teams at our product development space in Lincoln, NE, where you'll help prototype, assemble, and test new solutions and help build technical documentation. You'll need to be comfortable working independently and with team members.

If you’re interested in gaining experience with motor controls, pneumatics, robotics, computer vision, and novel AI software on the industry’s most advanced automation systems, this is the role for you.

What You Must Have:

  • AAS in Automation Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Electrical and Electromechanical Technology, or other related two year technical degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Ability to read and follow AutoCAD drawings for system layouts, assembly, and troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems onsite in a food production environment
  • Experience with machinery, tools, and mechanical/electrical assembly

Additional Experience We’d Like You to Have:

  • Prior experience with onsite automation system installation and support

  • Experience with electrical and mechanical systems and troubleshooting

  • Experience with Excel and 3D CAD software

  • Machine shop or 3D printing experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be comfortable operating in a food processing environment
  • Ability to travel approximately 40% of the time
  • Possessing a driver’s license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to accommodate some weekend work and last minute travel
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times
  • Ability to maneuver in and around equipment, including small spaces
  • Squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching overhead, reaching forward will occur while on the job
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods
